Specialists in the assessment of nanomaterial toxicity to human health and the environment


The projects in which we work are very interdisciplinary. We have worked with numerous partners in academia, industry and Government as part of our research activities. Details of collaborators can be found in the descriptions of our research projects.

The Nano-Safety Research Group at Heriot Watt University is also part of the Safety of Nanomaterials Interdisciplinary Research Consortium (SnIRC). This collaboration aims to reduce the uncertainties associated with the potential risks of nanomaterials and has participants from:
